On the quest for the Epic Mount

Stetal had begun the Netherdrake epic mount quests and that got me fired up to get started as well. I want to thank Stetal again for helping me out last night. We are both up the group quest against Zuluhed the Whacked. I've read a lot of interesting tactics to beat him. Some have done it with 2-man groups and others with 4-man groups. What I get from it all is that it can be done with some planning. Below are the list of quests to get started which were posted on www.wowhead.com. I added some comments from what I experienced and the tips Stetal had given me for the quests.

If anyone is interested in doing these quests or just want to get a good pounding in on Zuluhed, please let me or Stetal know. We can pick a day to do it. After that it's a lot of saving for the the epic riding lessons. If people were interested, we could help each other get to neutral. It seems two weeks is the time frame for completing the entire quest line if you keep at it. Once I have the gold for the epic riding lessons, I will put this to the test and post my results.

How to get Neutral with Netherdrake (Netherdrake Epic Mount Quest Starter)

1. Kindness-Pick this quest up from Mordenai. He wanders the Netherwing fields near the Sanctum of the Stars but not hard to find. He's usually fighting the Rocknails.
- Kill 8 Rocknail Flayers, Use Carcasses to Feed 8 Dragons (don't move!). Try to target the Rocknail Flayers. They drop full carcasses as the smaller rocknails drop giblets. You need 5 giblets to make one carcass.

2. Seek Out Neltharaku
- Fly on your mount and find Neltharaku, he patrols slowly around Dragonmaw about a few hundred feet up. You'll have to be a few yards UNDER him to talk to him. I rotated my camera up in order to select him.

4. Infiltrating Dragonmaw Fortress
- Kill 15 of any type of orcs in the fortress.

5.To Netherwing Ledge!
- Find 12 Crystals from the floating island SE of the mainland. Miners will get indicators marking the crystals. Watch for the lvl70+ elites walking around and the flying mobs above the island.

6. The Force of Neltharaku
- Free 5 Dragons by using the crystal item from Neltharaku on them, then killing the orcs they aggro.

7. Karynaku
- Find Karynaku, she's the second story of the fortress.

8. Zuluhed the Whacked
- Kill Zuluhed and recover the key. (note from Greengoo: I recommend pulling him inside so as to avoid the archers, and kill him BEFORE he summons his adds. Use the key he drops to free Karynaku.)

- Return to Mordenai, you will immediately gain 42,000 rep and become neutral.

Shwick and Azlinn missing in action

Heya guys - Azlinn and myself, Shwicky, are going to take a few more days off Warcraft for some fierce LAN gaming showdowns we havent been able to get to all year. We have, however, finished with the boys room and the girls room, and have done the demo for the bathroom renovation. I still need finish the GINORMOUS planters out front but it is over 105 degrees almost all day now outside so putting that off. Will see everyone again in a few days or so. Kick some alli butt for us !!

Woot!!

Well it took a lot of pvp but Kyllen is finally riding in style! :) I have to say while I enjoy a little bit of pvp I was getting a bit tired of it by the end. Plus, one match we had 13 (yes 13!!) people afk...it's very frustrating to be out there working your butt off while so many people earn free honor. Bizz needs to come up with a way that they auto DC if they haven't done anything after a few mins, it's insane! BTW, donations are now being taken for the Kyllen is broke fund...lol

The Underbog

Well we made it through. Myself, Kyllen, Chanina, Maingano, and Stetal all ventured into the coilfang resevior to go after some nasty bosses. The first boss we encountered had us by our throats for a couple of group deaths, but we eventually got our wits together and defeated him. After this we didn't run into a problem until "Claw". This druid was mind controlled to be a big bad bear and he did some serious damage. We eventually freed him from his mind control and life was great. Last boss of the evening had some of our party up in the air with a levitate spell which made it impossible to do melee damage, fortunately some of us could still hit with ranged attacks. Cheers to all our party members who sucessfully navigated this instance. Later we'll attempt the "Slave Pens".

This is from our Instance Day fun in Zul Farrak. Myki had a little bit too much Noggenfogger to drink. With a "small" contribution from myself we were able to get everything done. TY Chanina / Azlinn for taking us through.

A flying mount...at 20??

How'd she do that? Well with the new patch bugging all kinds of things..bouncing raptors, latency at an all time high...etc, this is one bug that had me laughing. Reynne and I were in TB and as I looked up there she was on the FP mount still. She couldn't see it, but she followed me all over TB on the mount. Here's a few highlights.

Tired of Gold Spam?

As this is such a pain to all of us, here are a couple of mods I've found. I've downloaded them to see if they really work.

WhisperBlocker--(Go to Downloads, then Chat Mods under Stand-Alone Add-ons)
Blocks whispers using a word filter that can be edited as the spammers try to change the ad message. The command /whisperblocker opens a simple menu.

ShutUp--(Listed Alphabetically)
Blocks all whispers except for guild members and people on your friends list. This one uses command lines. I've found two commands so far: /ShutUp disables the program. This same command with text following will be your reply to the sender. For example: /ShutUp I am not receiving whispers. This is what I have for my reply message.

I've put the links where you can find them in case some of you may want to try them out. I'm leaning more towards WhisperBlocker. The other should not allow any whispers from the general public and I'm not sure if that includes GMs as well. I'm thinking one or the other should help. Both may be overkill. LOL So there you have it. I hope they work out.

Congratz Stetal & Shwick!!

Congratulations Stetal & Shwick for completing the quests to recieve their LVL 60 Dreadsteed mounts. We were in Dire Maul in Feralas to start. Then headed to Dire Maul West battling some nasty critters to make our way to clearing the 5 pylons to fight Immol'thar. But it didn't end there. We had a wave of imps coming down on us along with other demons that I frankly couldn't keep track of as I was on imp slaughtering detail. We held all the baddies at bay while Shwick & Stetal perform a summoning. After the dust settled, the Xorothian Dreadsteed appears and we defeat him. I had so much fun and really happy that we were able to finish it. Thanks again to Kyllen and Azlinn for all their help and great job Shwick & Stetal for this awesome accomplishment.

Chanina has Armorsmith Speciality!

After long tedious hours of mining for obsence abouts of iron and mithril & crafting specific Blacksmith items, Chanina is finally an Armorsmith. I'm going to put together a post about what to expect doing this speciality and try to even list some best places to mine. I'm so happy I finished with this path and willing to help anyone who might want to become an Armorsmith. I will stress this is not an easy one to do. It does take time to gather all the ore and materials. I want to leave this bit of advice: mine all the ore you see and save it if you can. Even if its grey, you may need it at some time. Iron and Mithril along with the Solid stones and Heavy stones should be saved especially. Keep rare gems you find. I tried to save a few stacks of ore and gems to share with the guild to help out those who are trying to level up their skills.

As always let me know if anybody needs anything. I'm happy to help in anyway I can.

VOTE for new Guild Tabard design

The time has come to vote for our new Guild Tabard design. The original was made a very long time ago and more design options have become available since then. The choices below are basically different icons with different colors. They are not necessarily the only choices. We can put different icons with different colors. These icons, however, are the icons that show up the best on our smallest frame characters (blood elf) and so would be the best option as larger frames will show them even better. I threw one design in just for kicks and hopefully that particular one wont win the most votes LOL. The backgrounds were kept dark to best go with the higher level armor sets, Light border was chosen for same reason but not all of the designs have that. Icon color was chosen to best go with the darker background and border. To vote just add a reply to this post with your favorite color / icon.

Conratulations to Hundak!

Well our 1st official monthly drawing has occured. Shwick anb I met in Zabra'Jin to find a winner. Shalaman rolled an 82, after several attempts and landing on a number assigned to characters who elected not to participate. Hundak - one of our blacksmiths is a level 23 warrior with dreams of becoming a great weaponsmith.

So remember, next monthly drawing will be at the end of May. Keep your fingers crossed. You might be next.

I dont know about you guys, but I think Shal is taking his Goblin Engineering a little too seriously.

Well its late Sunday night, early Monday morning for some of you. Out of the blue, both Kyllen and I received mail from someone named Serendra saying we had "A Present From Argent Dawn" with a long message about how Argent Dawn appreciated all that we've done and would like to reward us with a gift.

Gift was Red Wrapping Paper that would send 100g to the sender. Reported this immediately to various GM's and was assisted promptly.

Back in the day

Ya know, sometimes you really just need to take a break from killing Alliance, and get a good rest in your favorite resting spot. I prefer the peace and quiet of a well made coffin, but hey not everyone is as picky as me.

Actually, I was lying here waiting for an Alliance to come back into Tarren Mill so I could whack him again. Was told my name wasnt visible above ground in this position. LOL. And yes I leave the hotbars visible in my screenshots in case I need to reload WoW - dont wanna try to remember where I had everything. 8).

Princess Theradras

Well it has been a long, hard battle. Two shamans trying to conquer Mauradon isnt an easy task. With a little help from our fearless leader "Shwick" we were able to retrieve the Scepter of Celebras which will allow us to port our entire group to the bottom. Anyway from there we made our way to the chamber where the princess lives. She is one ugly princess.
